Frequently Asked Questions

What do you do?

At The BTX Studio, we know that trying Botox or Dysport for the first time (or even the tenth!) can come with a lot of questions. Below are answers to the most common questions we hear — and if you don’t see yours here, feel free to reach out.

  • Botox is an FDA-approved neuromodulator that temporarily relaxes specific facial muscles to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. It works by blocking the nerve signals to those muscles, softening their movement while still allowing natural expression.

  • You’ll usually start to see results within 3–7 days after your treatment, with full results visible around 2 weeks. Dysport can sometimes kick in a little faster, within 2–5 days.

  • On average, Botox and Dysport results last about 3–4 months. Longevity can vary depending on your metabolism, muscle strength, and how often you’ve been treated before.

  • Most clients describe the sensation as a quick pinch or tiny prick. We use very fine needles, and the treatment is quick — usually under 10 minutes for most areas.

  • There’s no significant downtime, and you can return to most activities right away. We do recommend avoiding heavy exercise, lying down flat, or rubbing the treated area for about 4 hours after your appointment.

  • We charge Botox and Dysport by the unit — pricing starts at $4 per unit for Botox and $12 per unit for Dysport. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your goals and create a customized plan so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Some of the most popular areas include:

    • Forehead lines

    • Frown lines (also called 11s or glabellar lines)

    • Crow’s feet

    • Bunny lines (on the nose)

    • Chin dimpling

    • Jawline slimming or TMJ relief

    • Neck bands

We currently focus on the most-requested, clinically-proven areas for Botox and Dysport:

    • Forehead lines

    • Frown lines (the “11s”)

    • Crow’s feet

These areas deliver the most noticeable, natural-looking results and are the most common concerns among our clients. By specializing in these areas, we ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.

That said — we know everyone’s needs are unique. If there’s another area you’re interested in treating, just let us know during your consultation. We’re happy to discuss your goals and see if we can safely and effectively address them.

  • Both are FDA-approved neuromodulators that work the same way, but they differ slightly in how fast they work and how they spread. Botox tends to stay more localized, while Dysport spreads a bit more, which can be ideal for larger areas like the forehead. We’ll help you choose the best option for your goals.

  • Most clients come in every 3–4 months to maintain their results. Over time, with regular treatments, you may be able to stretch out the time between appointments.

  • Not at The BTX Studio. Our philosophy is all about subtle, natural results — you’ll look like yourself, just more refreshed and confident. We believe that less is more.

  • When administered by a qualified, experienced professional, Botox is very safe and has been used for decades in both cosmetic and medical settings. As with any treatment, we’ll review your medical history to ensure it’s right for you.

  • There’s no “perfect” age — it depends on your skin, genetics, and goals. Many people start Botox in their late 20s to early 30s as a preventive measure, before lines become deeply etched into the skin. If you notice fine lines starting to stick around even when your face is at rest, that’s a good sign it might be time to start. During your consultation, we can help you decide what’s right for you.

  • Yes! This approach — called prejuvenation — involves using small, targeted doses of Botox before wrinkles become permanent. By relaxing the muscles responsible for repeated facial movements, Botox helps prevent fine lines and creases from deepening over time. It’s a proactive way to maintain smooth, youthful-looking skin.

  • Botox (and Dysport) are neuromodulators, which relax the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles (like frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet).
Fillers, on the other hand, are dermal gels (usually made of hyaluronic acid) that add volume to areas like the cheeks, lips, and under the eyes, or fill in deeper lines.
    In short:

    • Botox = softens lines caused by movement.

    • Fillers = restore volume & smooth deeper folds.

At this time, we focus exclusively on Botox and Dysport treatments. However, we’re always listening to our clients’ needs and may expand our services in the future based on demand.

    • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours

    • Avoid blood-thinning medications (like aspirin) if possible (check with your doctor first)

    • Come with a clean face (no makeup if possible)

    • Let us know if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any health concerns

  • Out of an abundance of caution, we do not recommend Botox or Dysport treatments if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

Although there’s no definitive evidence that Botox is harmful to your baby, there also isn’t enough research to prove it’s completely safe — so it’s best to wait until after pregnancy and nursing to resume treatments.

If you’re planning a pregnancy or think you might be pregnant, please let us know during your consultation so we can help you plan accordingly.
