Frequently Asked Questions

What do you do?

At The BTX Studio, we know that trying a wrinkle relaxer for the first time (or even the tenth!) can come with a lot of questions. Below are answers to the most common questions we hear — and if you don’t see yours here, feel free to reach out.

  • Botox is an FDA-approved neuromodulator that temporarily relaxes specific facial muscles to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. It works by blocking the nerve signals to those muscles, softening their movement while still allowing natural expression.Wrinkle relaxers are FDA-approved injectable treatments that soften fine lines and dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions like smiling, frowning, or squinting.

At The BTX Studio, we offer several trusted options — including Botox®, Dysport®, Jeuveau®, and Letybo® — and select the best choice based on your facial anatomy, muscle strength, and aesthetic goals.

These treatments work by gently relaxing targeted muscles so the skin appears smoother while natural expression is preserved. When performed with precision, the result is a refreshed, well-rested look — never frozen or overdone.

Treatments are quick, require little to no downtime, and are fully customized for balanced, natural-looking results.

  • You may begin to notice results within 3–7 days, with full results typically visible around 10–14 days.

Some wrinkle relaxers, such as Dysport®, may take effect slightly faster — sometimes within 2–5 days — though timing can vary from person to person.

We schedule a two-week follow-up window to assess your results and ensure everything looks balanced, natural, and exactly as intended.

  • Most wrinkle relaxers last about 3–4 months, though this can vary based on factors like metabolism, muscle strength, treatment area, and consistency of treatments.

With regular maintenance, many patients find their results may last longer over time as the treated muscles become trained to relax.

Our approach is always conservative and customized — helping you maintain smooth, natural-looking results without appearing overdone.

  • Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch that lasts only a few seconds. We use ultra-fine needles, and treatments are performed with precision to maximize comfort.

Appointments are typically very quick — often 10–15 minutes depending on the areas treated — and many patients are surprised by how easy the experience feels.

Our goal is to create a calm, comfortable environment so you feel relaxed and confident throughout your visit.

  • There’s no significant downtime, and you can return to most activities right away. We do recommend avoiding heavy exercise, lying down flat, or rubbing the treated area for about 4 hours after your appointment.

  • Wrinkle relaxers are priced by the unit, meaning you only pay for what you need. The total cost depends on the areas treated, your muscle strength, and your aesthetic goals.

At your appointment, we’ll perform a personalized consultation, discuss pricing up front, and create a customized treatment plan so there are no surprises.

We believe in transparent pricing, thoughtful recommendations, and natural-looking results — never one-size-fits-all treatments.

  • Wrinkle relaxers can be used to soften dynamic wrinkles and refine facial contours in several areas, including:

    • Forehead lines
    • Frown lines (the “11s”)
    • Crow’s feet
    • Bunny lines
    • Chin dimpling
    • Jawline slimming / masseter treatment
    • Neck bands

The most commonly treated areas — forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet — often deliver the most noticeable yet natural-looking refresh.

Every face is different, which is why we take a personalized approach to treatment. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your anatomy, discuss your goals, and recommend the areas that will create the most balanced, confirming results.

  • All wrinkle relaxers — including Botox®, Dysport®, Jeuveau®, and Letybo® — are FDA-approved neuromodulators that work in a similar way by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles to soften dynamic wrinkles.

They differ slightly in how quickly results appear, how they diffuse within the treatment area, and how each formula interacts with your individual muscle pattern.

Rather than taking a one-product-fits-all approach, we thoughtfully select the option that best supports your anatomy, treatment area, and aesthetic goals.

  • Most clients come in every 3–4 months to maintain their results. Over time, with regular treatments, you may be able to stretch out the time between appointments.

  • Not at The BTX Studio. Our philosophy is all about subtle, natural results — you’ll look like yourself, just more refreshed and confident. We believe that less is more.

  • Yes — wrinkle relaxers such as Botox®, Dysport®, Jeuveau®, and Letybo® have been extensively studied and safely used for decades in both medical and cosmetic treatments.

When administered by a qualified, experienced injector, they are considered very safe and effective. Your safety is always our priority, which is why we carefully review your medical history, discuss any concerns, and ensure the treatment is appropriate for you before proceeding.

Our approach is thoughtful, precise, and always centered around natural-looking results.

  • There’s no “perfect” age — it depends on your skin, genetics, and goals. Many people start Botox in their late 20s to early 30s as a preventive measure, before lines become deeply etched into the skin. If you notice fine lines starting to stick around even when your face is at rest, that’s a good sign it might be time to start. During your consultation, we can help you decide what’s right for you.

  • Yes! This approach — called prejuvenation — involves using small, targeted doses of Botox before wrinkles become permanent. By relaxing the muscles responsible for repeated facial movements, Botox helps prevent fine lines and creases from deepening over time. It’s a proactive way to maintain smooth, youthful-looking skin.

  • Wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers both enhance facial aesthetics — but they work in very different ways.

Wrinkle relaxers temporarily relax the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet, creating a smoother and more refreshed appearance.

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances, often made with hyaluronic acid, that restore volume, enhance facial contours, and soften deeper folds.

    In simple terms:
    • Wrinkle relaxers soften lines caused by movement.
    • Fillers restore volume and structure.

At The BTX Studio, we specialize in wrinkle relaxer treatments and focus on delivering precise, natural-looking results through a thoughtful, personalized approach

    • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours

    • Avoid blood-thinning medications (like aspirin) if possible (check with your doctor first)

    • Come with a clean face (no makeup if possible)

    • Let us know if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any health concerns

  • Out of an abundance of caution, we do not recommend any treatments if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

Although there’s no definitive evidence that Botox is harmful to your baby, there also isn’t enough research to prove it’s completely safe — so it’s best to wait until after pregnancy and nursing to resume treatments.

If you’re planning a pregnancy or think you might be pregnant, please let us know during your consultation so we can help you plan accordingly.
